Hello everyone and welcome to my Blog! My name is Roxanne Leung and I’ve been a teacher with Regina Public for 7 years now. Currently, I am teaching Grades 3/4 but before that I taught Core French and half-time French Immersion at Elsie Mironuck Community School. Although I truly enjoy being a classroom teacher, being a specialist teacher has given me the opportunity to teach a variety of age levels, specifically Kindergarten to Grade 8. It has also helped me discover a preference for teaching the primary grades.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my family, helping out with our family business and being active with my two best friends in the whole wide world, my son Beau and my dog Oakley. EC&I 831 is my eighth Master’s course and my fourth Edtech course. When I first began taking online courses, the process was somewhat confusing as I did not consider my-self to be very technologically savvy. However, it did not take long before I began to feel more comfortable navigating my way through the digital world and exploring many of the Learning Management Systems (LMS) available for teaching content. Moreover, I do make an effort to stay up to date with the latest apps and have discovered how effective Twitter is for growing my PLN! Feel free to follow me on Twitter @roxanne_leung. My goal is to further my education while working with technology and to incorporate technological learning strategies into my daily teachings. I am excited to begin this new journey in EC&I 832, and I look forward to connecting with all of you as well as learning about Digital Citizenship & Media Literacies. Let the adventure begin!
